The B.A. in multimedia and internet allows student to move into a wide range of professions. I made a list of jobs I would like to do after graduating.
Game designer
This is the job I am most likely to do. The game designer always works with developers, artists and testers and he is under the orders of the project manager. He is responsible for the graphic development of a computer or console video game within a video game publishing company (Activision, Ubisoft, Mojang Studios for example). He conceives the gameplay, that means he creates the story, the characters' design and handling. After gaining experience, he can become lead game designer and give instructions to artists and developers, so they translate his ideas into characters designs and interactions.
Web Developer
The web developper works in a web agency, freelance, IT services companies or directly for companies. He develops web interfaces according to their client's needs. This may involve intranet sites, internet sites, web applications or online tools. He responds to specifications drawn up by the customer or a project manager. The web developer can also help draw up the specifications if the project manager doesn't master the technical aspects of this job. Computer literacy and coding remain important to the profession, which is always on the lookout for innovations and new applications. The main languages used to create websites and web applications are HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and PHP.
Graphic designer
The graphic designer creates graphic and visual elements required to produce any media (books, animation, newspaper, video games). He can be found in any field, like publishing, communications or marketing. He works mainly with other digital professionals using a variety of media and softwares (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Gimp, etc), and that is why he needs to be versatile. However, he often starts his career as a freelancer. His imagination allows him to create backgrounds, models and logos while respecting the customer's brief He can work with both 2D and 3D, bu the graphic designer only uses virtual. Evolutions depend on where he works, but the graphic designer can progress to project manager or artistic director.
